Turnover of Mambukal hotel expected in April

THE Mambukal Convention Hotel located inside the Mambukal Summer Resort in Murcia town, Negros Occidental is expected to be turned over to the provincial government before the Panaad Festival in April.

Acting Provincial Administrator Lucille Gelvolea said on Monday, January 28, that the contractor is still finishing minor details including the repairs caused by the recent damage of the facility.

It should have been turned over last year but there was a delay in the finishing touches, she pointed out. “Additional works were also done in the hotel.”

Gelvolea said the facility is still under the contractor.

However, there is a different contractor for the air-conditioning system and elevator, she pointed out.

“We hope it will be turned over before the Panaad Festival this year,” she added.

“When it is ready by end of March, it will be a big boost to tourism in the province as an additional venue for activities and accommodation for tourists,” Gelvolea said.

Meanwhile, she said the provincial government is yet to sign the agreements with the buildings where some of the offices will be transferred from the Provincial Administration Center.

The Capitol has requested an extension of six months before the Dynamic Builders could start their project.

Gelvolea said there are 10 offices currently at the Provincial Administration Center (PAC) that will be relocated to three different locations.

Dynamic Construction is set to construct a new commercial building on the site of the PAC. (TDE)
