UP-AND-COMING Cebuano abstract artist Dani Yu will hold her debut solo painting exhibition at the Big Hotel in Mandaue City this February.

Her exhibit dubbed “COME. BE. BECOME.” features over 20 original and purely palette knife-painted, acrylic on canvas, framed and ready-to-hang art pieces.

Yu is a welcome addition to the roster of local artists and she is predicted to make waves in Cebu’s contemporary art scene.

The artist displays her originality through an extensive execution of palette painting techniques and a unique play of color and texture.

The artist, who is also an architect, hopes to promote art as a discipline.

For Yu, art is an intentional force aimed at inspiring her audience. She also wants to contribute to the growth of the Cebuano art community by creating original works.

Meet the artist at 10:30 a.m. on Feb. 3, Sunday, at The Gallery of Big Hotel on W.O. Seno St., Parkmall Drive. The exhibit will run until March 3. For inquiries and details, contact 0917-659-9380.
