Tuklas to feature 9 innovations at ‘Pasundayag’

“Pasundayag” will showcase the nine innovations in disaster preparedness Tuklas Innovation Labs-Central and Southern Luzon Lab from March 2018 to November 2018.

The event will feature the final prototypes of the innovation teams and pitching sessions to gather possible partners and other forms of support.

Central and Southern Luzon Innovation Fair is a one-day event to be held at the SM North EDSA Skydome on Tuesday, February 12, 2019, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. It will exhibit the accomplishments of the Tuklas-Central and Southern Luzon Lab.

“Pasundayag” means celebration and exhibition in Bisaya, as this event is part of a series of innovation fairs to celebrate the successes of the innovative disaster preparedness solutions Philippines Tuklas Innovation Labs has supported.

Covering Regions III, IV-A, IV-B, V, and NCR, the Central and Southern Luzon Lab focuses on community-led innovations addressing the gaps to improve disaster preparedness. The Lab, led by CARE Philippines, currently supports nine innovations devoted to lessen the vulnerabilities of their partner communities.

Each innovation team will be having a booth where they will be exhibiting their achievements and final prototypes. All teams will also have a chance to pitch their ideas to possible partners and investors for them to be able to scale up and improve their innovations.

The innovation teams which will be present are Civil Defense from Sta. Ana, Taguig City, Pluvia Technologies from Calamba, Laguna, Foundation for TheseAbled Persons, Inc. together with the Nueva Ecija Association for Persons with Disability, Ania Design Labs from Manila, Technological Institute of the Philippines together with Brgy. Nangka, Marikina City, Xtelent from Brgy. Maharlika, Taguig City, The Samdhana Institute together with the Tagbanua Community from the Calamianes Group of Islands, Palawan, Concern Inc. together with the municipality of Masantol, Pampanga, and Prod.JX Artist Community together with the municipality of Dingalan, Aurora.

The event is supported by Tuklas Innovation Labs and CARE Philippines.

Tuklas Innovation Labs supports innovative solutions that help communities better prepare for disasters as this is key to achieving resilience in the Philippines.
