Duterte to two DAR execs: Resign or face raps

PRESIDENT Rodrigo Duterte on Tuesday, January 29, elevated his threat against two officials of the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR), this time telling them to either resign or face charges over the supposed delay in the processing of land conversion applications.

In an interview with reporters in Malabon City, Duterte said he would fire two DAR offcials, whose rank is director level, because of their failure to solve delays in the processing of land titles.

"May tanggalin ako dalawa sa DAR. An application that was long delayed, two years sa opisina nila, that is corruption to me para mag-balik balik 'yung aplikante. Two years? Anong ginagawa ng p***** i*****," the President said.

(I will fire two DAR officials. An application that was long delayed, two years in their office, that is corruption to me to have applicants go back and forth. Two years? Son of a b****, what are you doing?)

"I will ask them to resign or else I will file charges against them and I will see to it that they will get their comeuppance," he added.

Duterte first told officials from the DAR's land conversion office on January 22 that they will get fired, if they do not improve their services, especially when it comes to the processing of lands for his administration's land reform program.

In his latest statement, the President said he could not stomach the sluggish processing of land conversion applications.

Duterte, however, said he could not yet name the DAR officials.

He said he would first demand for their explanation for their supposed failure to address delays in the process of land titles.

"Kasi you know when you are a s*** and you have the power to delay it, so you must be something holding a position there. Ang ayaw ko lang, baka walang accounting kaya sabi ko isang buwan lang kayo sa akin, unless you have a good reason. But you have to write me," the Chief Executive said.
