P396M for Davao infra projects in 2019

DAVAO City Mayor Sara Z. Duterte-Carpio said the city will be spending some P396 million on infrastructure this year.

“Recognizing the importance of road networks in business, for 2019 our annual development fund the city government has allotted P396,386,000 for concreting and rehabilitation of our road in all three districts. What we want is to interconnect all the barangays in Davao City with roads and bridges,” Duterte-Carpio said Wednesday, January 30, in her keynote speech during the 51st Annual Installation of Officers and Board of Trustees of the Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. (DCCCII) at the Marco Polo Hotel Davao.

She added, “We recognize the importance of roads in opening the economy in our communities."

The city mayor added the fund will also be for the construction of water drainage systems in Poblacion, Bucana, Maa, Matina, Agdao, Talomo, Calinan, and Toril.

Meanwhile, the city has also allocated around P83 million for economic development programs on agriculture and fisheries, cooperative services, livelihood, veterinary programs, and tourism.

“We have allotted P61.9 million for the construction of waste-to-energy (WTE) facilities. We are assisted by the Japanese government on this. And for our urban cleaning program, and for the procurement of additional equipment for our sanitary landfill to extend the lifestyle of our landfill while we are building our WTE,” Duterte-Carpio said.

The city also allocated P56 million for the construction of health care facilities, daycare centers, tribal halls, and multi-purpose buildings.
