A WATER-filtration system will be piloted in far-flung schools in the Davao City to address potable water source issue, a business leader said.
Force 21 assistant manager Liezel Salera said in a media forum during the weekly Habi at Kape at Abreeza Malls they have already eyed schools in the far areas of the city to be the recipient of the water-filtration system.
“According to Deped (Department of Education), there are about 11 public elementary schools that are in dire need of access to safe drinking water affecting the health of the students,” Salera said.
Salera said the water-filtration system through “Life Straw” is the only filtering system accredited with three stars by the World Health Organization (WHO).
“We make opportunities to create collaborations to provide the technologies to our beneficiaries who cannot afford these technologies,” Salera added.
She also said the initiative of the project is part of the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals.
Meanwhile, Salera also said they have already signed a partnership with Mindanao Development Authority (Minda) and with two private companies to provide safe water to communities last September 2018.
