Oro council bats annual medical check-up for employees

THE Cagayan de Oro City Council has passed a resolution which pushes for an annual medical check-up for all City Hall employees.

City Councilor Ian Mark Nacaya said the health condition of public servants should be given priority.

He said while the city is focused on providing quality health care to the public, it should also acknowledge the wellbeing of the employees.

Nacaya pointed out that the charter of Civil Service Commission provides that all public servants are entitled to avail of the annual medical check-up so that proper treatment may be given immediately as soon as health-related concerns are detected.

The City Council tasks the City Health Office as well as the city hospital to conduct the check-up.

"Even a simple blood pressure should do. Because as what I have experienced while overseeing markets, some of the employees are hypertensive," he said.

The resolution is forwarded to the City Mayor's office for appropriate actions.
