INDIGENT townsfolk of Bantayan, Sta. Fe and Madridejos in Bantayan Island, Cebu received free health consultations and treatments on January 25 to 27, 2019.

The free medical, surgical and dental consultations were conducted under the auspices of the Bukas Loob sa Diyos Covenant Community in Rockville Centre, Long Island, New York; the Catholic Medical Board of New York; and Fr. Joselito Danao, parish priest of St. Peter and St. Paul Church in Bantayan town.

The medical mission was held at the grounds of St. Peter and St. Paul Church.

Services offered included medical, dental and surgical (minor), and health teaching.

During the mission, patients were fed with morning and afternoon snacks while waiting to be attended to by health providers.

Also, toothbrushes, slippers, reading glasses, clothes and children's toys were distributed.

But it was not only health issues that were addressed. Missionaries gave away holy rosaries and taught people how to pray the Rosary. (PR)
