Alab Pilipinas dominated Saigon Heat, 111-87

IT WAS total domination for Alab Pilipinas at home after a 111-87 beating of Saigon Heat on Sunday night, Feb. 3, at the Hoops Dome in Lapu-Lapu City.

Alab Pilipinas immediately dominated the game with a 20-point first half lead, 53-33, led by 7-3 center PJ Ramos and Bobby Ray Parks Jr., who both scored 16 each.

Saigon, however, started the third quarter strong with a 9-0 run to cut it down to 54-42.

Parks, Ramos and Reynaldo Balkman combined for 20 points in the third period to maintain the lead to 12 going into fourth, 81-69.

It was all Alab Pilipinas as it outgunned Saigon, 30-18, in the fourth.

Ramos led Alab Pilipinas with an impressive double-double of 30 points and 18 rebounds along with four assists. Ramos' fellow Puertom Rican Balkman put up 29 markers, seven rebounds, five assists and a block, while Parks had 23 points, seven assists and a steal.

Chris Dierker spearheaded Saigon's offense with 20 points, five rebounds and three steals.

Murphy Burnatowski added 19, Trevon Hughes chipped in 16, De Angelo Hamilton contributed with 15 and Dang Khoa Tran had 11.

Alab Pilipinas improved to 12-2 at first place in the Asean Basketball League, while Saigon to 10-7 at third place. (EKA)
