Telus wins silver at Anvil Awards for Telus Days of Giving

MANILA -- For successfully implementing outstanding and sustainable corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs, leading BPO and IT solutions provider Telus International Philippines recently bagged the Silver Anvil Award for its Telus Days of Giving program at the 54th Anvil Awards held at Manila Marriott Hotel in Pasay City.

Organized by the Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP), the annual Anvil Awards is considered one of the most prestigious award-giving bodies in the country’s public relations industry.

Telus Days of Giving is Telus International Philippines’ most impactful CSR program. It involves annual and weekly CSR activities where thousands of team members (employees) and leaders from across its five sites work hand-in-hand to build houses, revamp elementary schools, visit orphanages or homes for the elderly, and engage in other noteworthy charitable activities.

“We are thrilled to share this recognition with our team members. They’re the ones who willingly commit their time, effort and hearts to serve our communities, and we are able to make our CSR programs sustainable and impactful because of their support,” said Carlos Giammattei, Telus International Philippines’ director for Brand, Marketing and Culture.

The company was able to organize volunteer activities for 49 out of the 52 weekends of 2018.

During those 49 weekends, over 6,450 Telus International Philippines team members actively participated in these volunteer events, and all in all they were able to spend over 31,000 volunteer hours to benefit more than 7,600 beneficiaries.

The Telus Days of Giving CSR activities focused on creating positive impact in the communities in the areas of education, environment and health.

“We are fully committed to giving back to our communities, and Telus Days of Giving has been a great program to develop volunteerism among our team members. Volunteerism enables our team members to find more meaning in the work that they do and gives them an active role in

benefiting others,” Giammattei said.
