TALISAY City and Carcar City will take on each other in the Samsam Gullas Cup 3.0 Legacy Cup after winning their Final Four games last Saturday, Feb. 2, at the Talisay City Sports Complex.
Talisay City eliminated defending champion San Fernando by a lopsided 87-67 beating thanks to Keaton Clyde Taburnal, who had 17 points, eight assists, six rebounds and two steals to lead Talisay City to victory.
Jay Dieparine and Raffy Bacasmas combined for 37 points. Dieparine had 19 markers and five steals, while Bacasmas chipped in 18 points, seven rebounds and a block.
The trio of Ronaldo Geraldino, Keith Gulle and John Carl Soreso scored 16 points apiece for San Fernando.
Meanwhile, Carcar City squeaked past last year’s runner-up Minglanilla, 75-72, in the other semifinal match.
Rey Joseph Alfeche had a monster game of 22 points, 16 rebounds, five assists and two steals for Carcar City.
Leonilo Martorillas added 18 markers, five boards and four steals, while Kyle Lauronilla flirted with a double-double with 11 and nine rebounds.
Alvier Alforque had 20 points for Minglanilla, Ryzel Gilbuena contributed 17 and Lyle Eredera added 13 points, eight rebounds, four steals and two blocks. (EKA)
