1 dead, 2 injured in Bacolod stabbing incident

A MAN died while two others were injured in a stabbing incident due to drunkenness in Barangay Handumanan, Bacolod City on Sunday, February 3.

Killed was Gary Gaitan, 59, of the said village.

Senior Inspector Armilyn Vargas, head of Police Station 10, said the victim and suspects Jeffrey Acejo, 47, and his son Mark Eugene, 21, both residents of the said village, were having a drinking session at 9 p.m. when a heated argument ensued between them.

A commotion then followed when Jeffrey took a bladed weapon.

Vargas said Jeffrey allegedly attacked the victim, but the latter managed to fight back.

Jeffrey’s son responded, took a bladed weapon from their house, and also reportedly stabbed the victim.

They all sustained stab wounds and were rushed to a hospital, where Gaitan was declared dead.
