Unega to endorse 8 senatorial bets

NEGROS Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon Jr. confirmed on Monday, February 4, that his group, the United Negros Alliance (Unega), will endorse eight senatorial candidates in the coming May 13 elections.

“We will have eight in the line-up and the rest would depend on the individual choices of the members of Unega,” the governor said.

Those who will be supported by Unega has been helping the sugar industry, Marañon said.

Earlier, the governor named Senators Cynthia Villar, Juan Edgardo Angara, Grace Poe, and former special assistant to the President Christopher Lawrence Go as among the senatorial candidates that he is supporting.

“We will help them for the posting of their campaign materials if they will give us,” Marañon said.

Though he said that the country has so much problem and there is also so much politics.

The campaign period for the national candidates will start on February 12. (TDE)
