THE Ambassador of the Kingdom of Hungary H.E. Dr. Jozsef Bencze introduced Enrilen Joy Benedicto Tan as the new Consul, a.h. of Hungary in Cebu during a cocktail reception at the Marco Polo Plaza Cebu. Proudly present were Enrilen’s parents, retired Belgian Honorary Consul Enrique Benedicto and Helena Benedicto as well as her uncle Ambassador (ret.) Francisco Benedicto and the rest of the family.

One of the highlights of the Cebu Business Month (CBM) of the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) is the ongoing Innovation Summit Conference and Expo at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino. CBM overall chairman Benedict Que says, “This event provides unique and timely opportunities for sectors to foster a culture of entrepreneurship through technology and innovation.”

By the way, the opening salvo of CBM 2018 chaired by Elisa Torres was one grand and glittering affair at The Terraces in Ayala Center Cebu hosted by Cebu Holdings Inc. and Ayala. On the frontline was CCCI president Antonio Chiu (Honorary Consul of the Slovak Republic).

Independencia, a Filipino foodfest in celebration of Philippine Independence Day, unfolded at the Marco Polo Plaza Cebu a few days before D-Day. Man in charge was executive chef Juanito Abangan, the hotel’s first Filipino executive chef who, together with his team, came up with a fiesta fare featuring distinctive cuisines from Luzon, the Visayas and Mindanao.

White was the color of the night at the Summer Soul affair of Metro Society magazine and Crimson Resort & Spa at the resort’s Azure Beach. It was a benefit dinner party for the Marine Reserve project of Crimson (Adopt a Clam).

The Mandani Bay grounds looked festive as festive could be during the BBQ At The Park happening at the complex. The summer event was a sneak peek at the lifestyle that Mandani is offering its clients—relaxed, outdoorsy and fun. Coming up is the construction of its Boardwalk which will be home to retail and dining outlets along the area facing the Mactan Channel.
