Capitol turns over P15.3-M worth of infra projects to LGUs

NEGROS Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon Jr. turned over P15,300,000 worth of checks to the different barangays of municipalities of Murcia, La Castellana, and Binalbagan; and Sagay City to fund their infrastructure projects.

Barangays Caliban and Zone 4 of Murcia received P250,000 each for the concreting of a barangay road and repair and improvement of a concrete drainage system, respectively, while Barangay Camandag, La Castellana received P500,000 for the renovation of the barangay hall.

Barangays Amontay, Bagroy, Bi-ao, Canmoros, Enclaro, Marina, Paglaum, Payao, Progreso, San Jose, Santol, San Teodoro, San Juan, Sto. Rosario, San Pedro, and San Vicente received P300,000, respectively, for different projects such as construction of elevated water tank, drainage system, barangay hall perimeter fence, mini market, multi-purpose building, improvement of covered court, water supply system, completion of multi-purpose hall facilities, installation of solar streetlights, rehabilitation of canals, and concreting of a barangay road.

Meanwhile, Barangays Sewahon I, Rafaela Barrera, Puey, Malubon, Molocaboc, and Baviera received P1 million each for road concreting projects, while Barangay General Luna received P1 million for the rehabilitation of a multi-purpose building; Barangay Plaridel also received P2,500,000 for the concreting of their barangay road.

The turnover ceremony was held at the Provincial Capitol on Friday, February 1.

The checks were received by the authorized barangay officials and representatives. (PR)
