THE miniature paraw making contest for the 47th Iloilo-Guimaras Paraw Regatta is now open and the deadline for submission of entries is until February 9 at 5 p.m.

The competition is open to all individuals, organizations, groups, barangays, government agencies, commercial establishments, and other legitimate associations.

The materials to be used should be indigenous and recyclable.

All entries should be a prototype of the paraw with a dimension of two feet width by four feet length by four feet in height; and must have a maximum of three feet stand incorporated in the paraw.

Entries must have no foul smell and must be dry when submitted; and must be recent and should not be a product of commercially miniaturized paraw.

These must be structurally safe and sound, sturdy enough to withstand the rigor of transport, handling and installing during the exhibition proper; must be painted, sprayed or pasted provided the textured quality and appearance of the recycled materials are still visible. Entries will not be allowed any identification of any form.

Three points will be deducted every day of delay and per inch greater or lesser the prescribed dimensions.

Entries will be given corresponding number on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Registration forms are available at Media Production Center, 4th Floor, Mother Foundation Building, John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University, M.H. del Pilar Street, Molo, Iloilo City.

The judging period will be on February 10-16 with an exhibit at SM City mall. The organizer will choose top three and seven consolation prizes. The result is final and unappealable.

Entries will become property of City Tourism and Development Office. (PR)
