3 pushers nabbed in Kalinga

THREE drug pushers were arrested by Kalinga police during a drug bust in Tabuk City in the morning of February 5.

Police Chief Superintendent Rolando Zambale Nana, regional director of the Police Regional Office–Cordillera (PRO-Cor) identified the suspects as Marlon Olimos, 32, and two females, all residents of Paliparan 3, Dasmariñas, Cavite, after selling two plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu weighing approximately 10 grams to agents who acted as buyers during a drug bust at Purok 7, Bulanao, Tabuk City, Kalinga.

Another two transparent plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu weighing approximately 55 grams were discovered when the police conducted body search to the suspects.

Also confiscated from the suspects were cellphones used for their transaction and the P2,200 drug bust money.

The inventory and marking of the confiscated pieces of evidence was done onsite in the presence of representatives from the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the media and a barangay official.

The suspects are now facing charges for violation of RA 9165 known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Nana lauded the operatives of the Regional Intelligence Division (RID), Regional Intelligence Unit 14 (RIU14) and Tabuk City Police who arrested the suspects.

The police general also appreciated the continuous support of the local government units and the community in the elimination of all forms of illegal drugs in the region that greatly helps in upholding the national government’s anti-illegal drugs campaign.
