Sarah Geronimo wears AMATO Couture by Cebuano Designer Furne One for historic Papal visit

ASIA’S pop star royalty has once again raised the Filipino flag when she not only performed in the historic mass led by Pope Francis at Abu Dhabi last Feb. 5 but also partnered with Dubai-based Cebuano Furne One.

“It is such an honor for me to be able to be tapped once again by Sarah Geronimo’s team to glam her up during her special performance on one of the world’s historic moments,” stated Furne One, co-founder and creative director of AMATO Couture.

On his 25th year in the fashion business, Furne One successfully held a major fashion show in Manila last June 12, 2018 and finished launching his new collections in fashion shows in Russia, Cebu and India. In November 2018, AMATO went viral in social media after selecting celebrity Maymay Entrata to open and walk his runway show, generating a total of one million tweets in less than 24 hours.

Furne One, who has dressed Sarah Geronimo in all her past concerts and appearances in Dubai, prepared two statement pieces for the star; an immaculate white jumpsuit in Chinese collar embellished with crystals and flower patterns, finishing with a dramatic cape with aviary accents; and a divine powder blue couture gown with intricate details and signature AMATO patterns. Both colors “symbolize peace and unity, a perfect statement for this momentous event in our history,” said the designer.

AMATO Couture has served some of the biggest names in the global entertainment industry: Beyonce, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez, Nicki Minaj, Shakira, Jessie J and many more. (Rhea Maglahus, USC Intern)
