Shangri-La presents oriental feast for Chinese New Year

SHANGRI-La’s Mactan Resort and Spa, Cebu celebrated the Year of the Earth Pig last Feb. 5. The Lunar New Year celebration formally began at the lobby where guests witnessed cultural traditions and performances beginning with the eye-dotting ceremony for the lion, followed by a lion dance and dragon dance. Capping off the celebration was the Prosperity Toss, a ritual conducted to usher in long life, prosperity and unity for all.

And this was just the beginning—guests staying at the hotel and resort will be treated to culinary delights created by Chef Boon Hoe.

Its Chinese restaurant, Tea of Spring, offers Lunar New Year set menus featuring oriental dishes such as Steamed Live Grouper in Double Deluxe Soy Sauce, Deep-fried Tiger Prawn coated with Golden Pumpkin Sauce and Chilled Mango Purée with Pomelo and Sago until Feb. 14, in celebration of the Year of the Earth Pig.
