PNP holds bloodletting in Oro

THE Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (Cocpo) on Wednesday, February 6, conducted a blood-letting activity as part of their social responsibility in time for the “love month” at a mall here.

Dubbed as “Dugo mo, Gugma ko,” Cocpo spokesperson Superintendent Mardy Hortillosa II said this activity will show the love of policemen in the city towards the people, especially those who are in need of blood.

Hortillosa said this is also in compliance with the directive of the police national headquarters to initiate activity during the Valentine’s Day.

“This is part sa atong social responsibility ug para mapaduol kita sa katawhan busa naggahin mi og time nga maka-donate sa dugo,” Hortillosa said.

“Ang Crame nagpadala og memo nga mag conduct og activity every Valentine’s Day,” he added.

Hortillosa said the city police office gathered 85 successful blood donors.

Aside from police personnel from Cocpo, members of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), police interns, and other individuals participated the whole day activity, in partnership with the Northern Mindanao Medical Center (NMMC) blood bank.

Hortillosa said this is the fourth time that Cocpo holds similar activity since it was only conducted once a year during the Police Community Relations (PCR) month before.

“Kada police station nagpadala og 10 ka personnel kay dili man pwede mabyaan ang police station kay labi na full alert ta. Unya naay taga BJMP ug criminology interns,” the police official said.

“Daghan pasyente nga nagkinahanglan og dugo, ang uban makita nato sa Facebook unya ang NMMC gakahutdan sa dugo busa ang uban modagan sa Red Cross,” he added.
