Resto owner on waitresses’ accusations: It’s ‘extortion’

A BUSINESSMAN cried foul over his arrest for allegedly molesting his two female employees.

“It’s a classic case of sexual harassment extortion,” said Chad Regner, owner of popular restaurant Bucket Shrimps in Cebu City.

Regner, 50, was arrested after the victims, who are waitresses on training, accused him of touching their private parts and kissing them on Monday night, Feb. 4.

He gained temporary liberty on Thursday, Feb. 7, after he posted a P36,000 bail for the sexual harassment case.

In a press conference on the same day, Regner did not deny or admit the women’s allegations.

He read his prepared statement from his cell phone. “I’m raised well by my late mother. I’m loved by my ex-wife. I respect human rights, I mean respect female rights. I never sexually harass and abuse women. This is my story,” he said. (From SCG of SuperBalita Cebu, KAL)
