A VILLAGE official was killed in a drive-by gun attack around 7:30 a.m. Friday, February 8, in the province of Zamboanga del Sur, the police said.
Chief Superintendent Emmanuel Luis Licup, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula director, identified the victim as Gavino Lacsado, Jr., 52, village chief of San Isidro, Labangan town.
Licup said that initial investigation showed that Lacsado was driving a motorcycle on the way home when shot by one of two men riding on another motorcycle that tailed the victim in New Labangan village, Labangan town.
He said Lacsado succumbed to a bullet wound in the forehead.
Two empty shells of caliber .45 pistol were recovered at the crime scene, Licup added. (SunStar Philippines)
