LTO 7 rakes IN P1.68B in revenue

THE Land Transportation Office (LTO) 7 was able to surpass its annual target for revenue collections of P1.28 billion during the previous year, an official said.

The LTO 7 was able to collect around P1.68 billion in revenue from January to December 2018, with its district offices in Cebu leading in terms of collections, said LTO 7 Director Victor Caindec.

Caindec said their district and extension offices in Cebu were able to collect around P1.28 billion during the previous year while their offices in Bohol were able to collect P205 million.

Their offices in Negros Oriental were able to collect P180.2 million in revenues last year while their counterparts in Siquijor collected P14.9 million.

Caindec said in total, the LTO 7 was able secure a 108 percent efficiency rating and was able to surpass the annual revenue target collection set by the Department of Transportation (DOTr) of P1.5 billion for last year.

Caindec said around 900,000 vehicles, including motorcycles, were registered before their offices last year with around 300,000 registration-related transactions.

One factor in the revenue increase enjoyed by LTO 7 is the coordination of commercial malls for establishment of mega-licensing centers and temporary off-site registration offices which attracted more of their clientele.

For this year, Caindec expects that they can surpass their revenue target last year once their new extension and district offices and mega licensing centers will be activated in Cebu and Bohol. (PAC of Superbalita Cebu, JKV)
