TWO brothers were shot and wounded by their opponent who lost in a basketball game in Zamboanga del Sur, the police reported Sunday, February 10.
The Zamboanga del Sur Provincial Police Office said Richard Manlanat, 22, and his brother Raymond, 21, were playing basketball against the suspects, Haber Sarapuddin, 33, and Bayoyoy Maknon, 23, both carpenters, prior to the incident Saturday, February 9, in the village of Buenavista, Pagadian City.
Police said the suspects went home after they lost the game, but returned with handguns and shot the Manlanat brothers at around 6:05 p.m. Saturday.
Sarapuddin allegedly shot the brothers with a caliber 38 revolver, while Maknon, who was armed with a caliber 45 pistol, acted as lookout.
The victims were rushed to the hospital while the suspects fled to the forested area of Purok Kawayan. (Bong Garcia/SunStar Philippines)
