THE City Government of San Fernando headed by Mayor Edwin Santiago on Monday, February 11, recognized peacekeepers who stand out in performing their duties.

Santiago, together with Vice-Mayor Jimmy Lazatin, City Councilor Harvey Quiwa, and City of San Fernando Chief of Police Superintendent Levi Hope Basilio recognized Police Officer 2 (PO2) Juanito Andres Agrano, Barangay Sta. Lucia Chairman Mark Anthony Bartolo Manalili, Barangay Peace and Order member Michael Tupe Yutuc, Deputy Chief Enrique Ragini Quiray, Barangay tanods Danilo Yangco Ramos, Roland Yangco Samson, and George Balingit Dizon, and Staff Sergeant Arsenio Rapon Roldan.

Agrano was recognized for delivering a lecture dubbed “Enhancing the Capabilities of Force Multipliers (Barangay Tanods)” by focusing on basic investigation, proper handcuffing techniques, basic self defense, proper use of blotter, basic intelligence to 350 members of Barangay Peacekeeping Action Teams (BPATs) from 35 barangays in City of San Fernando from August 24, 2018 to December 17, 2018.

The awardees from Barangay Sta. Lucia were feted for conducting an inspection on January 6, 2019 which led to the arrest of Jun Jardinez Gagarin and Roy Bantoy Abecilla who had three empty transparent plastic sachets containing shabu residue and assorted drug paraphernalia while having a pot session inside a mausoleum in Man’s Gold Cemetery.

Roldan was commended for his bravery on October 10, 2018 during a hold-up robbery along Del Rosario Road here by apprehending suspect Jessie Quiambao Fronda who was allegedly behind the series of hold-up robbery incidents in City of San Fernando and Angeles City.

“The City of San Fernando recognizes peacekeepers for their service to Fernandinos. I’m glad that the eight awardees showed initiative in serving Fernandinos by fulfilling their duties,” Santiago said.

“Their performance in their duties made them deserve the recognition. They showed dedication throughout the process---making us look up to them as true and model Fernandinos,” Santiago added.
