BARANGAY Granada bagged the championship title in the 5th Bacolaodiat lantern dance competition on Saturday.

The barangay, with their beautiful lanterns, red customs and energetic dancers was adjudged as Best in Street Dancing and Best in Lantern and a cash prize of P75,000.

Second and third runners up were WSWG and Barangay 23, respectively and won P50,000, and P25,000 in cash prizes.

Grana also got P5,000 for the street dancing and the best in lantern awards.

Outshone by Granada were Barangay Sum-ag, University of St. La Salle, Domingo Lacson National High School, Handumanan National High School, and Pulupandan Dance Ensemble.

Senatorial candidate Vicente Sotto III who was invited as guest lauded Mayor Evelio Leonardia for the wonderful festival of the city.

Sotto opined that the festival is another promising domestic tourism attraction for Bacolod.
