Six more pushers fall in Kalinga

SIX drug pushers were arrested in a drug bust in Barangay Buscalan in Tinglayan, Kalinga on the evening of February 9, following the arrest of three drug pushers last week.

Arrested were Roland delos Santos Angala, 37; Nolido Magdali Lachica alias Jake, Ace Reyes Tengco, both 20 years old; a 25-year-old female; and two minors. They are all residents of Bacoor, Cavite.

Chief Superintendent Rolando Nana, regional director of the Police Regional Office Cordillera (PRO-COR) said authorities confiscated from the suspects 16.95 grams of dried marijuana leaves and stalks, 14 grams of suspected shabu, and 3.60 grams hashish as well as the P2,000 buy-bust money, pocket size marijuana electronic weighing scale and other drug paraphernalia.

The suspects and the confiscated items are now under the custody of Tinglayan Municipal Police Station, while a case for violation of RA.9165 known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 was filed against the suspects.

“The arrest of the drug pushers is a big blow to the drug syndicates especially to those from other provinces who come in our area of responsibility for drugs trade of which this leadership will not allow and will make every move to preempt similar incident,” Nana said.

The drug bust was conducted jointly by the Tinglayan Police, Tabuk City Police Station, Regional Maneuver Force Battalion (RMFB), Kalinga Maneuver Force Company, and intelligence personnel of Kalinga Provincial Police.
