Killed was Helardo Benarao, 55, while wounded was his wife, Sinona, 58.

Chief Inspector Roberto Indiape Jr., chief of Murcia Municipal Police Station, said the land area where the incident happened was geographically under Barangay Minoyan, Murcia town, but the victims are residents of Salvador Benedicto town.

He was even brought by the suspect outside their house and lighted him while his body was covered with mat.

Indiape said Helardo was partially burned.

Sinona was brought to a hospital through the help of her child who also asked assistance from a village watchman who is their neighbor.

She is confined at Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital

in Bacolod City.

Police recovered two bolos at the crime scene but they cannot yet tell if both bolos were used in the crime.

The suspect remains at large.

It even triggered him to be violent when his wife reportedly left him for a week now, he added.

Indiape said the family has yet to decide if they will press charges against the suspect.
