GMA-7’s Kara Mia will replace Cain and Abel in the first primetime slot to pit against rival network ABS-CBN’s “Ang Probinsyano.”

Kara Mia is the newly promoted telenovela of GMA about two sisters suffering from Disprosopus, congenital defect wherein a person has two faces in one body.

Kara Mia will air its pilot episode on February 18, in time for Cain at Abel’s final episode which will be on February 15.

According to Lilybeth Rasonable, GMA’s Vice President for Entertainment, they will be putting Kara Mia at the first primetime slot for a change of sceneries. GMA has been placing action-packed television series since July 2016.

“It’s so exciting for us kasi (because) it’s very different from what is being offered now on primetime on the first slot, but they should take a look,” she said.

She said that she was happy with the way Kara Mia stars, Barbie Forteza and Mika dela Cruz, were performing amidst the hard role they need to bring life to. She was also pleased on how the show received praise since their promo.

“Of course, when doing projects like that, you take a risk because people might find it creepy and baka (what if they will be) ma-turn off. But because it’s been done so well and the artists are so good, natutuwa ang mga tao (the people are happy). Tuwang-tuwa kami (we are happy),” she added. (Von Daniel R. Plasencia, USC Intern)
