FROZEN 2 is in the works as Walt Disney Pictures released a sneak peek video of the upcoming sequel.

The trailer casts all-time favorites from the original film like Anna, Kristoff, Sven – Kristoff’s reindeer and buddy-in-crime, Olaf – the adorable little snowman, and Queen Elsa herself.

Frozen 2 is rumored to be released on November 22 yet no further announcements were posted.

The film is one of the high-profile films that the studio has worked on this year including the likes of Avengers: End Game, Toy Story 4, and others. Moreover, the studio has also been working on the live action and reanimation of classic Disney movies like Dumbo, Aladdin, and the Lion King.

This is all thanks to the original movie in 2013, Frozen, which garnered around $1.3 billion in the big screen and started brand new merchandises like Frozen action figures, memorabilia, and even a Broadway musical inspired by the film. In addition, Frozen sold over $67 million on its premier.

Moreover, the songs in the original movie left an impact on kids and their childhood, singing tunes of “Let it Go” and “Love is an Open Door” over and over again.

The studio has been rejuvenated since the premier of Frozen, despite its so-so performances and films created in the late 90s and early 2000s. It proved to be a huge turnaround for the studio and how they create their animations.

Disney chief executive officer, Bob Iger, stated that the studio “went into a long period where the films they created weren’t driving the perception of the company and the brand itself.” Thanks to Frozen, the studio was able to turn things around and improve on their mediocre performance in the early 2000s.

Frozen 2 will be shown around Thanksgiving Day, which is a huge holiday for families. Thus, the company is expecting that the sequel will get much popularity and sales, given that the first film already has an appeal to the public. (Von Daniel R. Plasencia, USC Intern)
