CTU rules Scuaa 7 anew

THE Cebu Technological University (CTU) showed its dominance anew after bagging its third consecutive overall title in the 2018 Colleges and Universities Athletic Association (Scuaa)-7 Regional Games that concluded on Wednesday, Feb. 13 in various venues in Cebu.

The Scuaa powerhouse CTU garnered a total of 127 gold medals, 81 silver medals and 52 bronze medals to win the overall title in the four-day sporting meet at the expense of closest rival, the Negros Oriental State University (Norsu).

Norsu settled for second overall with a total medal haul of 100 gold medals, 59 silvers and 45 bronzes.

CTU leaned on the medal-rich events like track and field, arnis and karatedo to prevail in the regional qualifier.

CTU’s track and field team spelled the huge difference with 33 gold medals, 10 silvers and 12 bronzes. The arnis team handed 25 gold medals, nine silvers and 16 bronzes, while the karatedo team contributed 14 gold medals, a silver medal and six bronzes.

Cebu Normal University settled at third overall with 31 gold medals, 64 silver medal and 56 bronzes. It was followed by Bohol Island State University (Bisu) with 30 gold medals, 73 silver medals and 107 bronze medals and the Siquijor State College (SSC) with six gold medals, four silvers medals and 12 bronzes.
