In the hype of technology startups, many entrepreneurs want to venture into a tech business even with little to no background in software project management. These non-technical founders usually face hurdles on delivery and output quality. LegalMatch Philippines, Inc. (LMPH), a developer of SAAS applications for the US legal industry, hosted a training entitled “Software Project Management 101” last November 10, 2018. The training was in collaboration with Cebu Innovation Network, a non-profit organization that actively promotes innovation.
The training covered topics like Software Engineering process, understanding the IT workforce, and Tech methodologies and standards. The discussions were specifically tailored for individuals without a tech background. The call of action is for these individuals to make themselves be more involved in the process of software engineering. Ron Khu, the main speaker of the event, has more than a decade of software project management experience. The topic was born out of an initial discussion with Mikee Morado and Ron Khu, co-founders of theCebu Innovation Network.
The training was held at LegalMatch’s office at the FLB Building, Cebu Business Park. This is the fifth in a series of training initiatives covering various software development topics that LMPH participated in this year.
LMPH’s General Manager, Christine Rom, believes that it is the company’s responsibility to help grow and nurture the city’s IT talent pool. LMPH plans to partner with more development groups who are dedicated to sharing their time, expertise, and resources in promoting IT-related knowledge to Cebu’s IT community.
