PUREGOLD Price Club, Inc., the leader in hypermarket industry, inaugurated its Singcang branch yesterday, its second branch in Bacolod.

Antonio Delos Santos, Puregold vice president for Operation in the Visayas, said that together with their first branch in Banago that opened in September 2013, Puregold has already invested about P400 million in Bacolod.

He added that they will be pouring in an additional P150 million to P200 million for their third branch in Bacolod, which will be constructed in Brgy. Mansilingan this year.

Gracing the opening ceremonies and cutting the ribbon were Puregold official Lorenzo Co, Puregold regional manager James Balingit, Bacolod Mayor Monico Puentevella, building owner Ely Chu, and San Miguel Purefoods president Butch Nazareno.

Fr. Farley Santillan officiated the Mass and blessed the newest hypermarket in the city.

Delos Santos said their two Bacolod stores are the only stores they have in the Visayas area. The Singcang branch is already their 237th store.

He added that they chose Bacolod to be the site of their Visayas expansion because it is progressive, has huge economic potential, has a good mix of end users and has a lot of small and medium entrepreneurs.

The company also plans to expand to other towns and cities in Negros Island and other areas in the Visayas, he added.
