Another gun ban violator nabbed in Baguio

POLICE officers in Baguio City arrested another gun ban violator last Friday at Barangay Padre Zamora.

According to police records, Police Station 2 personnel responded to a call from the barangay around 9:35 p.m. The violator was identified as PO1 Denver Dennis Baliling of municipal police station of Abra.

Baliling allegedly deposited his firearm at the barangay outpost. He was arrested at Lower Pinget.

Police officers recovered from Baliling a service pistol 9mm Baretta, and a magazine with live ammunition.

Baliling is the seventh gun ban violator in the city.

Meanwhile, police officers also arrested last Thursday, February 11, shoplifters at SM Department store.

Based on police records, a group of women allegedly entered the department store together with a child.

Security guard Jefferson Castro recognized two of them as Rachel Boroe and Glendalyn Coquia, who he said are already facing certain cases.

Castro allegedly saw Coquia slinging a bag on her left shoulder and immediately left the department store.

Castro ran after the group and apprehended Coquia and Boreo, recovering from them a Giovanni shoulder bag worth P1,699.75.

Castro turned the suspects over to police.

The suspects’ companions evaded arrest and were identified as Jean Honey and Marjorie Villoria.
