Gun ban violators reach 892 (4:17 p.m.)

MANILA -- The Philippine National Police (PNP) said Wednesday that it arrested around 900 people since the January 10 nationwide implementation of gun ban for this coming May elections.

PNP spokesman Leonardo Espina they have arrested 892 people where 58 of them were policemen, 34 are soldiers, 33 government officials and employees and 767 civilians.

Espina added that the PNP has so far seized some 762 firearms and 76 grenades. (Virgil Lopez/Sunnex)
