PDD888 Tropics Restobar improved its 5-0 record and assured of a top spot in Bracket A after it outshone Macro Tide, 83-73 in the ongoing 10th TKP Memorial Basketball Cup at Nompac gym.
Warren Alintano and Ryan Agena poured 20 and 18 big points for the Tropics to disappoint Macro, who eventually dropped to 2-2 win-loss card.
Tropics led the first quarter 20-14 with Agena nailing an early 16 points but Soqueño also shot 16 of the 22 for Macro in the second quarter to keep close at 40-36 at the end of the half.
However, the third quarter seemed to be easy for the Topics as they poured 25 while Macro has only 18 and end the quarter with 65-54.
In the final period, Macro was only good in exchanging shots with Tropics hitting only 18-point output before at the end of the buzzer.
On the other hand, BBC ended its elimination round at 5-1 to temporarily take the leadership in Bracket B after defeating Probac, 87-76.
Probac, who led first quarter, 22-20, dropped to 2-3.
Carlo dela Torre made 16 points with Lemuel Unibia, Kempee Lagrazon and Aling Cervales scoring 11, 12 and 10, separately, to anchor BBC’s victory.
Dela Torre hits eight of 19 for BBC in the second quarter to take the lead at the half, 39-37.
BBC continues to smoke in the third with 21 points extending the lead to 60-56 at the end of the quarter and finally closed the game with additional 27 points in the final period.
