Inauguration of sports complex set on Feb. 20

THE city government has scheduled the inauguration and turnover rites for the newly rehabilitated Joaquin F. Enriquez Memorial Sports Complex on Wednesday, February 20.

It will be a closed event, meaning only the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and city government officials, legislators and other invited guests will be allowed inside the sports complex.

It will be opened to the public only during the commemorative program marking the 82nd “Dia de Zamboanga” on February 26.

This was announced yesterday by Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Regional Office 9, the implementing office for the construction, rehabilitation and improvement of the 5.7-hectare sports complex in this city.

The inauguration rites will start at 9 a.m. after a fun run by DPWH-Zamboanga Peninsula employees at 7 a.m.

After the invocation, DPWH-Zamboagan Peninsula Regional Director Cayamombao Dia will give the opening remarks followed by the messages of Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar and District 1 Representative Celso Lobregat.

DPWH Undersecretary Dimas Soguilon and DPWH Assistant Secretary Maximo Carvajal will cut the ceremonial ribbon together with Dia, Lobregat, Salazar, District 2 Representative Jose Manuel Dalipe, and Randolf Ian Ruste of RCDG Construction Corporation that undertook the rehab project.
