THE 400-room Radisson Blu Hotel Cebu has announced the completion of the first phase of its big-ticket room renovation program.

Some 55 refurbished guest rooms and suites are now ready for occupancy, said Radisson Blu general manager Stephan Sieberg.

The redesigned rooms now feature new decor mixes, new carpets and re-tiled bathrooms, among others. The new rooms also carry upgraded technologies.

According to Sieberg, this room renovation program is the hotel’s first since it opened in 2010. The hotel invested P1 million to refurbish each room or a total of

P400 million, which is scheduled to be fully-completed by end of 2019 or February 2020 the latest.

Sieberg said the planned improvement signify the hotel’s commitment to deliver excellent hospitality service in Cebu, in the midst of the tight competition in the industry and the continued rising arrival of guests.

“The entire renovation is being financed by the hotel which means we are reinvesting in our business. We are reinvesting in Cebu,” said Sieberg.

He noted that while it is timely for the hotel to freshen-up the look of its rooms, such initiative is also meant to prepare them for the opening of new hotels in the city.

Radisson Blu Hotel Cebu is owned by SM Hotels and Conventions Corp. and managed by Radisson Hotel Group (formerly known as Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group).
