(UPDATED) -- Around 30 houses were razed in an evening fire that hit a residential area and a portion of the landfill on White Road, Barangay Inayawan, Cebu City on Sunday, February 17. The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) 7 received the alarm at 6:47 p.m. and the origin of the fire was traced to the house of Alex Ybiernas.
Cebu City Fire Marshall Noel Nelson Ababon said the fire quickly spread to the nearby houses made of light materials. The blaze was raised to second alarm at 7:13 p.m. and was placed under control after almost three hours of firefighting efforts at 10 p.m. Damage was pegged at P200,000. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. (JOB)
