If you gotta go in Sibonga, better go to the toilet

On Nov. 5, 2018, the ordinance was approved by Mayor Caroline Bacaltos.

The ordinance will now be implemented after the Provincial Board approved it Monday, Feb. 11.

The ordinance also requires each house in Sibonga to have a bathroom.

The first-time violator will be slapped with a P500 fine and/or ordered to do community service. A second-time offender will be fined P1,000 and/or ordered to render three days of community service. A third-time offender will pay a P2,500 fine. The same amount will be slapped against a family who fails to construct a bathroom six months after receiving the notice.

The ordinance’s Section 7 orders the creation of a Barangay Sanitation Control System (BSCS) for the town’s 25 barangays.

The BSCS is composed of the barangay captain as the chairperson, the barangay midwife as the vice chairperson, the councilor who is the health committee head and health workers. (FROM SCG OF SUPERBALITA CEBU / KAL)
