A 19-YEAR-OLD tourism student is the lone representative of Davao Region for the WISHcovery Season 2 finals: The Singer and The Song, a national digital singing competition.
Grand finalist Angelica Bermoy from Tagum City is fully preparing her piece "Alamat" for the finals happening on February 26, 2019 at the Araneta-Smart Coliseum to be hosted by RnB Prince Kris Lawrence.
“I am very honoured and I’ll be focusing starting Monday for the song that I’ll be performing on the finals,” she said in an interview after her homecoming mini concert at Felcris Centrale last Sunday, February 17.
She will be performing an originally-composed song by Christopher Boy.
“I did not expect that I will be representing Boy’s camp but I prayed for this. I’ll keep on practicing and praying. All finalists are excellent; all of us have potentials, so I will just do my best,” the Joji Ilagan International School student shared.
She added that it was her school friends who encouraged her to join the auditions for this season. But ever since, Bermoy has been dreaming to become a singer and performer and hold her own concert.
Boy, for his part said, he is certain that the Dabawenya will win this season because of her vocal prowess, character, charm, and ability to sing from her heart.
“We are doing everything we can for the finals. I am sure she’ll win. Let’s always think that she will win, walang sana, walang baka, she will win,” he emphasized.
Bermoy also underscored that this journey of her career is dedicated to her family and supporters.
