Forum on EO 71 set this March

THE Commission on Population (PopCom) Central Luzon will stage a dissemination forum regarding the recently signed Executive Order no. 71 renaming the Commission on Population as the Commission on Population and Development and reverting its attachment to the National Economic and Development Authority from the Department of Health, on March 12.

Expected guests will be coming from the Regional Population Technical Working Group (RPTWG), Central Luzon Association of Population Officers and Workers (Clapow) and the Media.

The said activity will be attended by Undersecretary Juan Antonio Perez III, MD, MPH, and executive director of PopCom. Another activity to look up to this year is the conduct of the Rafael M. Salas Population and Development Award (RMSPDA) where the hunt for the local government units, local executives or institutions with outstanding contributions in Population Development is made.

All other activities in stored include Writeshop for Katropa Jr., orientation on Local Migration Information System, Training of trainers on the different Adolescent Health and Development PopCom Modules, Regional AHD Film Festival and RPFP strategies to reduce unmet need for modern family planning.

The PopCom urges partner agencies, local government units, civil society organizations, and other concerned groups to support and take part in all its programs, projects, and activities that aims to reach more adolescents, couples, and communities to achieve and materialize its theme.
