THEY say diamonds are a girl’s best friend, bags too fit this category. And for KC Mahadali, bags are her bond with her mother as well as her inspiration for business.
What started as a hobby since she was 12 years old became a key for her to open up a business in Cagayan de Oro City, a store that gives women particularly the bag lovers the chance to own luxury bags without having to travel abroad.
Quinny Luxury Bags, according to Mahadali, is your source of pre-loved and brand new designer bags, shoes and accessories from Louis Vuitton, Hermes, Prada, Chanel, and other luxury brands.
The shop also accepts buy and sell, lay away, consign or trade in new and gently used imported bags, Mahadali added.
Mahadali shared that her growing collection of bags, with some she purchased while traveling, inspired her to finally open a business that reflects her passion.
“It started as a collection lang nang mom ko. Parang mom and daughter bonding. It started as a hobby and from traveling. So dumami na, why not start it as a business?” Mahadali said.
“Yung hilig namin ng mom ko is to collect bags, shoes, and clothes. I think it’s nice na we benefit from it. Sabi ng mom ko, ‘Why not benta mo na kaysa naman kino-collect mo lang?’” she added.
Apart from designer bags, Quinny Luxury Bags, named after Mahadali's daughter, also sells jewelries, branded shoes, and casual and formal clothing, most are Muslim dresses as well as Malaysian and Indian clothes.
“So kung may parties, dito na lang sila pupunta. Like in formal occasions, ‘yun ‘yung target namin,” Mahadali said.
Although most of its items are addressed to the needs of women, Quinny also has products for men such as shoes and watches.
While most of the clients prefer to visit the shop in person, there are also others that favor online shopping. As such, Quinny also accepts orders online and offers delivery or shipping services.

Quinny Luxury Bags, located in Zone 5, Kauswagan Highway (in front of the old Toyota showroom), Cagayan de Oro City, opened last Monday, February 18. The shop will run from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. everyday.
