Man found dead in vacant lot in Patag

A 52-year-old masseur who was believed to have been ill was found dead at a grassy portion of a vacant lot in 6th Division Patag, Cagayan de Oro City, early Tuesday, February 19.

Police identified the dead man as Felizardo Lumpinay, a resident of Zone-4 Bulua, this city. The caretaker of the lot found him at around 6 a.m. Tuesday.

Lumpinay was positively identified by his stepson who also revealed that Lumpinay suffered from hypertension.

Investigators said there were no signs of foul play on Lumpinay’s body.

"Wala mi nakita nga signs nga naay foul play kay wala tay nakita nga mga samad ug murag dili pa lang dugay siya namatay," Chief inspector Ian Borinaga, Police Station 4 chief, said.

However, police still advised Lumpinay’s relatives to have the body undergo an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

Borinaga said witnesses said Lumpinay was often seen in Patag area to attend to his clients.

"Ingon sa mga witnesses gakakit-an daw na siya sa Patag kay duna siguro siya mga clients nga iyang ginahilot," Borinaga said.

"Magpaabot ta sa result sa autopsy aron ma-determine ang cause of death ug para ma-establish nato ang crime," he added.
