38 nabbed in Negros Occidental for drugs

THIRTY-EIGHT persons were arrested in separate drug busts in Negros Occidental and Bacolod City from February 13 to 19.

On February 19, Anthony Donesa, 29, of Barangay Lantad, Silay City, a target-listed drug personality, was arrested in the village. Confiscated from him were 12 sachets of "shabu" (methamphetamine hydrochloride) weighing five grams worth P75,000, drug paraphernalia, sling bag, pouch, two ammunition of 12 gauge shotgun, the P500 marked money, and P7,000 boodle money.

Also arrested in Bacolod City on February 18 were a certain "Lanlan Abello" of Barangay Banago; Jonelo Artos, 38, of Barangay Bata; Grace Sotomayor, 36; and Angelou Grace Dela Torre, 20, of Barangay Villamonte, after police seized from them seven sachets of "shabu" worth P50,000, cellular phone, drug paraphernalia, and the P200 marked money.

All suspects are detained at Police Station 3.

In Sagay City, Julius Aldover of Barangay Bato was arrested after he allegedly yielded four sachets of "shabu" worth P3,500, and the P500 marked money.

On February 18, Bacolod residents Ma. Sheila Sanz, 47, of Barangay Vista Alegre; and Mertchil Perez, 29, of Barangay Granada were arrested after the police raided the house of Sanz.

Chief Inspector Sherlock Gabana, head of Police Station 7, said Sanz, a high-value target, allegedly yielded seven sachets of "shabu" worth P250,000, drug paraphernalia, and the P500 marked money.

Perez, a suspected drug user, was caught inside Sanz's house during the operation. Police recovered from him an improvised tooter.

Both are detained at Police Station 7.

In Victorias City, Gevy Aviso, 34, of Barangay 13, was arrested after he allegedly yielded three sachets of "shabu," P400 marked money, and a cellular phone.

On February 16, Rey Nillos, 30, a high-value target, of Barangay 1-Poblacion, Pontevedra town, was arrested after police caught him selling and possessing dangerous drugs. His companions, Bryan and Janno Covacha, managed to escape.

Police confiscated from Nillos three sachets of "shabu," P500 marked money, and drug paraphernalia.

On February 15, Bacolod residents Joemarie Alloso, 35, of Barangay 27; and Warren Villarosa, 38, of Barangay 35, were arrested in Barangay 27 after the police recovered from them six sachets of "shabu," drug paraphernalia, and P1,000 in cash. Both are detained at Police Station 4.

Personnel of Police Station 6 arrested Joemar Aguas, 22, of Barangay 40, after he allegedly yielded three sachets of "shabu," P300 marked money, drug paraphernalia, and P150 in cash. He is detained at the police station.

Also arrested in the city were Lino Cuadra III, 36, of Barangay Estefania, and Jefferson Gamarza, 37, of Barangay Handumanan, after the police recovered from them eight sachets of "shabu," P1,000 marked money, coin purse, P500 in cash, and a cellular phone.

In Talisay City, Roland Tibang, 48; Homer Discutido, 29; and Rodney Flores, 44; and Roberto Layan, 35, all residents of Barangay Zone 3; Raymund Baldon, 18, and Rolando Peñol, 24, both residents of Barangay Zone 4-A; and Chris Amarante Gargoles, 24, of Barangay Zone 6 were nabbed.

Police seized from them 16 sachets of "shabu," P300 marked money, drug paraphernalia, an improvised .38 caliber pin gun, a .38 caliber revolver, and four live ammunition.

In San Carlos City, Edward Bacalla, and Jelmar Javoc were arrested after they allegedly yielded five sachets of "shabu" and the P500 marked money.

On February 14, Andrew Tan, 49, of Barangay Granada, Bacolod City, was arrested for the recovery of four sachets of "shabu," P300 marked money, and a cellular phone.

Also arrested in Barangay Vista Alegre were Ramil Abquilan, 44, and Joselino Mosqueda, 47, after they allegedly yielded three sachets of "shabu," P200 marked money and drug paraphernalia.

Personnel of Police Station 10 also arrested Bobby Galicia Jr. of Barangay Handumanan after he allegedly yielded five sachets of suspected shabu, a cigarette pack, and the P200 marked money.

In Bago City, James Taborete,34, of Barangay Lag-asan was arrested after police recovered from him three sachets of "shabu," and the P200 marked money.

In Hinigaran town, Remiegildo Blacano,35, of Barangay Namunga was arrested. Confiscated from him were five sachets of "shabu," P640 in cash, the marked money, and drug paraphernalia.

In Murcia town, Mike Earl Vince Mangaser, 22, of Barangay Zone 4; and Wayne Dumangcas, 20, of Barangay Zone 5; were arrested after police seized from them three sachets of "shabu," P610 in cash, the marked money, cellular phone, and lighter.

In Valladolid town, Antoni Jose Ferraris, 52, of Barangay Sagua Banua, was arrested for sale and illegal possession of dangerous drugs. He allegedly yielded two sachets of "shabu," the P200 marked money, coin purse, and drug paraphernalia.

On February 13, Rey Ortaliz, 42, of Barangay 5; and Joeart Bajos, 26, of Barangay Talubangi, were arrested after police confiscated from them five sachets of "shabu" worth P15,000, drug paraphernalia, cellular phone, motorcycle, P1,560 in cash, and the P100 marked money. Both are level two high-value targets.

In Cadiz City, Alvin Zapanta, 26, of Barangay Zone 6, was arrested after police recovered from him four sachets of "shabu" worth P3,500, and the P500 marked money.

In Bago City, Eldy Dela Peña,41, of Barangay Poblacion, was arrested after he allegedly yielded five sachets of "shabu" worth P4000, drug paraphernalia, the P200 marked money, cellular phone, and P2,587 in cash.

In Victorias City, Francisco Santillan, 46, of Barangay 21, a newly-identified drug personality, was arrested after he allegedly yielded six sachets of "shabu" worth P3,000, drug paraphernalia, the P400 marked money, and P115 in cash.
