Beasley of LA Clippers returns to China

LOS Angeles Clippers forward Michael Beasley is reported to be going back to China.

Beasley is in talks with the Guangdong Southern Tigers, a team in the Chinese Basketball Association. After the Clippers waived Beasley last February 9, Beasley is looking for a change of scenery.

According to ESPN's sports reporter and analyst, Adrian Wojnarowski, Beasley is finalizing a deal with the Chinese team for a significant amount of cash.

“Short run of two months, significant cash,” Wojnarowski tweeted in his account.

Beasley was once a highly coveted college player due to his incredible run at Kansas. Later, he was the number 2 pick at the 2008 Draft and was picked by the Miami Heat.

In his time with the Heat, he averaged 12.4 points and 4.7 rebounds; playing 609 games for the team. Afterwards, he was passed around in the league, playing for six teams in a span of eight years.

He was later picked up by the Los Angeles Lakers during free agency to aid LeBron James in the tough Western Conference. However, he was traded last February 7 to the Clippers along with center Ivica Zubac for center Mike Muscala. (Jayvee Gulfan, USC intern)
