Mom reveals why son Daniel Padilla asked for 1-month break

KARLA Estrada, mom of teen star Daniel Padilla, explained why her son took a one-month vacation break from work.

At a press conference for her upcoming movie, Famila Blondina, at Quezon City last February 17, Estrada admitted that the reason why her son asked ABS-CBN network for some space was due to the circulation of rumors about his relationship with girlfriend Kathryn Bernardo going through a rough patch.

“So ngayon, bakasyon, bakasyon. Kasama si Kathryn....yun lang ang puwede kong sabihin, (For now, it’s vacation...with Kathryn. That’s all I can say),” she said.

She added that Padilla would later go to another country with his brother, Carlito, and his brother’s dad, Naldy Padilla, and Estrada’s cousin, Marco.

“Talagang ibabakasyon niya ang buong Feb dahil after that, sa March, mag-expect tayo ng dalawang pelikula na gagawin.”

(He will take a vacation for the whole month of February. After that, in March, he will be working on two films.)

Padilla is rumored to have a film with the famous actress Sharon Cuneta. Although it is not yet confirmed, Estrada advises those who are curious to be expectant of things to come.

She also clarified that the couple are not fighting nor getting separated anytime soon, as what rumors suggested.

“No! Walang ganun. For the record, walang ganun. Hayaan na natin yung mga nag-iisip na ganyan.”

She also added that Padilla’s plan is his vacation is also supporting his dad, Rommel Padilla, for the upcoming elections. Padilla’s dad would be running for the seat of the congressman of the first district of Nueva Ecija. Moreover, Estrada stated that Padilla would be extending his break if necessary to support his dad.

“Baka more than one month kapag all-out support siya sa kanyang tatay, kasi ang sarap ding bisitahin niya kung saan naglilingkod ang kanyang tatay.” (Von Daniel R. Plasencia, USC intern)
