THE Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)-Compostela Valley is targeting to bring in P500 million worth of investments to the province during the De Oro Biz Icon 2019.

DTI-Compostela Valley division chief Kim Evangelio said during the Habi at Kape media forum Wednesday, February 20, that the investment conference aims to position the province as an investment and business destination.

“Among the specific output of our Biz Icon is provide a venue for the investors to converge to build more investments, expand diversity and impact the local economy,” Evangelio said.

“We targeted P500 million investment leads generated during the biz icon and 30 new expansion projects in place for the industries of aquaculture, tourism, real estates, agriculture business, mining and others,” he added.

He added that the DTI-Compostela Valley already listed a total of 36 private project investments for the investment matching during the business conference on March this year which totaled to P3.2 billion estimated investment cost.

“The meat of the event is the investment matching. The build, build, build opportunities for business diversification expansion and options that would impact the local communities,” Evangelio said.

“In the investment matching, we already invited local businesses in Compostela Valley. During the matching, we will also invite foreign and local investors who will match with local investors already in the province,” he added.

Meanwhile, DTI-Compostela Valley trade and industry development specialist Rochelle Otoc said yesterday that the local players are already prepared with the expected bulk of investors to enter the province during the biz icon.

She also said that even before the conceptualization of the investment forum, the agency already met with local business players and discussed about the projects prepared for investment matching.
