LEARNING facilities for children at the Davao City Police Office were opened Wednesday, February 20.

Rotary Club of Downtown Davao president Josefa P. Ortiz told the reporters after the turnover ceremony that the P1.4 million classroom building can accommodate around 70 children.

"We want these children to become future leaders of the country," Ortiz added.

Emar CEO and president Lita Montalban said in an interview with SunStar Davao the sectioning of the children may depend on their aptitude.

"We are on the basic education kung halimbawa grade five ka dili ka kabalo mubasa we have to return you back in basic skills in grade one (If the child is grade five and having difficulties in reading, the child has to learn reading again in grade one)," Montalban said.

Davao City Police Office chief police superintendent Alexander Tagum said the new facilities can be used by the children starting February 23.

The project is a collaboration between Rotary Camp Crame, Rotary Foundation, and Davao Durian Eagle Club.
