TO MAKE fund transfers more convenient, Globe GCash has fully rolled out its GCash free fund transfer service in the Visayas.

GCash is a virtual wallet service that enable users to easily send and receive cash, and is open to use for all mobile networks.

Zoe Anne Ocampo, senior manager for GCash Fund Transfer, said this will improve the antiquated paper process and time-consuming fund transfer services in the country.

“The reality is that we spend a lot of our productive time waiting. But GCash brings the whole financial services to you through your mobile phone. If you want to deposit on your bank account, you do not need to line up anymore because you can now do everything through the GCash fund transfer feature for free,” she said.

“It only take less than three minutes to complete the transaction,” she added.

GCash fund transfer service allows one to transfer money for free from their GCash application to any of the more than 30 GCash-supported banks nationwide. It can be used for paying rental fees, bills and payments for online purchases.

To use this feature, customers need a smart phone, funds in their GCash account and their bank details. One has to log-in to the GCash app, choose bank transfer, choose preferred bank, enter the amount and bank details, confirm, and wait for the confirmation message.

Among the more than 30 banks supported by GCash are the Bank of the Philippine Islands, Banco de Oro, Unionbank, Landbank of the Philippines and China Banking Corp.

Ocampo highlighted that aside from being easy to use, the fund transfer service provides users with real time experience.

“With GCash, it’s instantly credited to your recipient bank account.” Ocampo explained.

She also assured that transactions through GCash fund transfer are safe and reliable, even if it’s for free.

“From a user’s perspective, GCash utilizes a four-digit mobile personal identification number. It’s like your password when using the app to make sure that the transaction is only performed by them. Another way is that when you perform cash-in transaction, from a bank to GCash, we implement a one-time password to secure the transaction,” she said.

The service allows for transfers anywhere in the country, provided there is data connectivity.
